First digital release of long lost 1966 LP. Originally scheduled for
release in 1966 by leading AfroCaribbean music specialists, R&B
Records, “The Ska From Jamaica” album remained
lost for well over half a century before the ¼” master tape was finally
discovered in the Trojan archives earlier this year.
Featuring tracks by numerous talents now widely regarded as Jamaican
legends, the LP showcased the work of leading producer, Lindon
Pottinger, comprising a dozen top quality tracks from his
Gaydisc/SEP catalogue that first saw issue in the UK on
R&B’s venerated Ska Beat label between 1964 and 1966.
All the tracks on the first CD were issude on the uk Ska Beat
record label. Issued on Doctor Bird DBCDD067 2 CD 2020. |
