back button Another good compilation of the Atlantic group of female recording artists from the 60's. This is the first CD in the series and it features Ann Mason with Little Mac, great organ alternative " You Can't Love Me (In The Midnight Hour)".  Great tracks from Doris Troy, the original of "Whatcha Gonna Do About It" from 1963, made into a UK hit by the Small Faces in 1965 (sorry David not the Hollies!). Mary Wells "Dear Lover" issued on Atco. "Ain't No Way" originally a B side builds to a classic soul tune from Aretha Franklin with a fine session band and backing singers, and who could forget the Sweet Inspirations "Let It Be Me".  Well put together booklet and sleeve notes by David Nathan, issued on Kent CDKEND 186.
