Once again Ace bring us a great collection of Soul ballads from Atlantic records. Highlights are "Lonely Soldier" by Mike Williams, for the first time on CD. I have the USA pressing and was a little envious when a friend came across the UK original issue in a junk shop for 30 pence! The artists Mighty Sam and Alvin Robinson who are not normally associated with Atlantic, give an outstanding performance. The obscure "May God Bless Our Love" by Elvis & the Roadrunners, great name, its a shame nobody knows anything about them. Lou Johnson with one of his many good singles from Cotillion "Please Stay". My favorite is the catchy "Breakfast In Bed" by the under rated Baby Washington. Adrian Croasdell has put together 26 great tracks with a hint of more to come! Issued on Kent CDKEND 195.
